Above all, Kambua Manundu is happily married to her a pastor and entrepreneur husband Mr. Jackson Mathu. And who together went out publicly to share the good news of their yet to be born child. Notably, this is after a long wait in a relationship that spans for several years. Especially, after officially tieing their not and getting married at a Garden Wedding back in 2011. Her Background Information
In the first place, Kambua Manundu is the second born of three children of Professor Manundu and Evangelist Lois Manundu. And not to mention, who are also the co-founders of Tabibu Ministries. She was born and raised in Nairobi. Her childhood was all about fun and games.
Equally, while attending Kianda Primary school, she was involved in school choirs and mass activities which strengthened her religious upbringing. Remarkably, she then attended secondary school at Lukenya Academy. Where her love for music grew as she ventured into solo performances.
Surprisingly, despite occasional financial difficulties, she was fortunate enough to complete her secondary school. After which she joined the Heart Strings Theatre and performed in a variety of shows. Including, ‘Family Business’ and ‘Something’s burning’.
Kambua Manundu Music Career Journey
Around the same time, she joined her church praise and worship team. Uniquely, she did background vocals for top artistes like Mbuvi, Bahati, and Kavutha. As a matter of fact, this gave her much needed exposure and a chance to sing alongside the legendary Angelique Kidjo in concert.
When Kambua was done with her degree, she visited Kenya on vacation, to the realization that songs from her album ‘Nishikilie’ were doing well.
Kambua’s Recognition, School Tour and TV Shows
On one hand, Kambua has featured in several commercials as an actress and voice-over artist. Among them being Delmonte, Sunlight, Mumias Sugar, KPLC and Fresha Maisha Milk. On the other hand, she has bagged several awards in her music career. Among them being,
- Groove Awards female artist of the year (2009),
- Kisima Awards Afro-fusion female artist of the year(2008),
- Groove Awards songwriter of the year award (2012)
In reality, she has two albums under her belt. Namely, Nishikilie and Nyumbani. Not forgetting, she has already started working on her third album which already has two songs, Again and Umetenda Mema.
