What Is The Dark Mode?

To simply put, dark mode is a browser extension that applies a nice and smooth dark theme for the web (4 custom themes are available). So, in other words, you too can now easily darken the web with a dark mode addon at night time! Below are the main browser download links:
Fortunately, if you do not like the current dark theme (dark theme #1), please visit the options page and change the theme from the 4 options available. There is also a whitelist feature that enables you to exclude a desired domain from dark mode.

In order to do this, simply add the domain(s) to the designated area (comma separated). And the websites will be excluded from night mode. Also, how do you turn the extension off (turn dark mode globally off)?
In order to turn the addon OFF, please click on the toolbar icon once. When the icon turns purple, it means the dark mode is off. And, when it turns to dark gray, it means that the dark mode is active.
Why should I use dark mode?
There are so many reasons why you need to use the dark mode plugin extension. Basically, it’s not only very trendy, but it actually helps save battery power. Many Google apps now offer this option. And you’ll probably want to turn it on and go as dark as possible on your favorite smartphone/tablet device.

However, as mentioned above, for specific websites in the whitelist, dark mode is not applied at all. So, in order to add a specific domain to the whitelist, please open the options page and add the desired domain to the designated area.
And instead of a domain, you can add a URL to the input area as well. Then, the addon will automatically convert it to a domain. But, please note, all domains must be comma-separated. For example, domain_1.com, domain_2.com, domain_3.com, etc.
What is the dark new tab?
If you did not like the video above, you can simply see the steps that follow. And therefore, in order to darken the new tab page, you need to use a separate add-on. Keeping in mind, all modern browsers have strict rules for customizing the new tab page.
The dark new tab is a simple and very lite add-on which enables you to open a new tab, completely empty, with a dark or white background color. The default browser tab is usually packed with lots of disturbances such as tiles, bookmarks, search-bar, etc.

If you prefer to have a simple and clean new tab, this addon works great for you. Simply add it to your browser and it works instantly. Just click on the new tab button on your browser and it opens a blank tab instead of the default one.
The default background color for the new tab page is now dark. If you prefer a white background color please click on the – moon – icon at the top left corner of the screen. This button will toggle the background color from dark to white or vise Versa.
How can I darken the new tab page?
As I have mentioned above, a lite and easy-to-use add-on to darken the new tab page are called the dark new tab. But, it’s available for Chrome and Firefox browsers only. Since the Opera browser does not allow manipulating the new tab page, the Dark New Tab add-on is not currently working for it.
However, please note that this addon is only affecting the new tab page in your browser. And thus, does not have any impact on other pages. All in all, working with this addon is very easy. Whereby, you’ll simply add it to your browser and click on the new tab page button.

A blank and dark new tab page will be open when you click on the default new tab page button in your browser. And if you’ll prefer a white background color instead of a dark one, please click on the toggle button at the top left corner of the screen.
When you change the tab color it will be stored in the memory. And so, the next time you open a new tab, the background color will be the stored one. Yes, this addon is designed for both mobile and desktop machines but does not have any toolbar buttons.

In short, working with this addon is very easy. You’ll simply add it to your browser and then click on the new tab page button. A blank and dark new tab page will be open when you click on the default new tab page button in your browser.
And as I mentioned above, if you prefer a white background color instead of a dark one, please click on the toggle button at the top left corner of the screen. When you change the tab color it will be stored in the memory. So, the next time you open a new tab, the background color will be the stored one.
